Leone Ziegler began her piano and violin studies with her mother Eva Kelly. She gained her B Mus studying with Robert Pikler, Harry Curby and Nancy Salas. During this time she was leader of the Australian Youth Orchestra and twice winner of the State finals of the ABC Concerto Competition. After working with the Australian Chamber Orchestra she was appointed to a first violin position in the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.  After being awarded numerous Scholarships in 1984 Leone studied in London with Frederick Grinke and Manny Hurwitz attended a summer school in Switzerland with Pierre Amoyal.  Subsequent scholarships were taken in 1991 and 2012 with David Jurwitz   She has worked with the AOBO, Seymour group and the Australia Ensemble and is a founding member of the Gagliano String Quartet.


Fiona Ziegler began her violin and piano studies with her mother, violinist, Eva Kelly, later studying violin with Christopher Kimber and Harry Curby, piano with Nancy Salas and cello with Lois Simpson.Fiona, also a prominent baroque violinist, has performed with Ensemble de la the Reine, The Marias Project,The Sydney Consort, Concertato,  The Australian Forte Piano, the Renaissance Players and theAustralian Brandenburg Orchestra.  She has also performed regularly with The Sydney Chamber Choir,Coro Innominata, the Sydney Soloists and has led the Sydney Philharmonia since 1992.  As a chamber musicianFiona has performed with the Gagliano String Quartet, the Sydney String Quartet. Trio Pollastri,the Vuillaume Trio, Josie and the Emeralds on Tenor Viol, the Grevillea Ensemble, and Plektra and Completely Plucked on mandolin and mandola.  Fiona is an Assistant Concertmaster of the SSO


David Wicks

 In 1987 David entered the Bachelor of music course at the Canberra School of

music. David's professional career began freelancing with the Canberra Symphony

Orchestra in 1987 followed by; 1988- The Australian Chamber orchestra, 1989- The Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and the Brandenburg Orchestra, 1990- The Sydney Symphony Orchestra and The Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra and 1991- The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

In 1995 David began playing permanently with the Australian Chamber Orchestra

where he was a core player from 1995-2005. After Leaving the A.C.O, David spent 3 years playing with the T.S.O before returning to Sydney to work with the A.O.B.O and the S.S.O.


Doug Emery has completed a Bachelor of Music (Performance) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. He commenced his cello studies at the age of 5 with Marc Bonetti and continued his studies at the Conservatorium with Susan Blake, Andrew Hines and Umberto Clerici, participating in masterclasses with German cellist Peter Brun.  As an orchestral musician he has participated in SYO, AYO National Music Camps, AISOI and the Sydney Sinfonia. As a chamber musician he has participated in masterclasses with Oliver Wille of the Kuss String  Quartet and Umberto Clerici. He has also toured NSW with ensembles from the Sydney Conservatorium and David Miller.  He has appeared with the Chanterelle quartet in a concert with Pini, Hazlewood and Friends and regularly appears with the Mosman Music Club.  He has been Music Director of Stephen Sondheim’s  Anyone Can Whistle with the Sydney University Musical Theatre Ensemble at the University of Sydney.
